Congratulations to all clubs and societies for making Clubs Day Spring session 2017 such a fantastic day! 80 clubs set up stalls and set Wollongong campus afire with free food, groovy moves and a heap of activities.
On the Duck Pond Lawn, a number of DJ competitors kept crowds grooving with some chilled electro sounds in addition to salsa beats from Captain Reece (which inevitably drew in dancers from the Salsa Club). Congratulations to KatsnotDogs on your win and $500 prize! Groove Central also created a funky show and encouraged students to pop, lock, spin and freeze. Meanwhile Ballerz energized students with a thrilling game of bubble soccer. We also loved seeing our Medieval Society in fantastic attire re-enacting scenes of combat and fighting for honour and glory.
By Building 19, a Maid Café was set up for a hot chocolate stop and photo with our Cosplayers donned in dazzling costumes and hair styles. Elsewhere, the Physics Society offered students some delicious scientifically-made ice-cream and UOW Motorsport had the enormous task of fuelling hundreds of students with sausage sizzles.
Thanks very much to all who were involved in the day. We would like to especially congratulate our newest club, UOW Powerlifting Club, who participated in their first ever Clubs Day and set the pace for a new session of lifting and powerlifting education.
