About Us

Toastmasters UOW is a branch of Toastmasters International on the South Coast of NSW
We are Club 8991 which is held within Area 3 in the Southern Division of District 70 Toastmasters

We are a university-based club, run by university students who take the values, skills and structure that Toastmasters International has to offer with the respect it deserves.

Our main goal is to better ourselves in the art of public presentation in a non-aggressive environment. Getting up in front of people comes easily to some, but for most of us it is a skill learnt with much practise, courage and determination.

Tutorial presentations, interviews and speeches are an integral part of university and indeed, of life. Our club is proud to have dedicated members of all skill level and backgrounds who come together under this unified goal.

We welcome everyone who has this common interest whether you are an International student, Domestic student, Research student or UOW Academic or Professional staff or a member of the public - all are welcome at our meetings as often or as infrequently as you like.

Toastmasters UOW Club Mission

As part of Toastmasters International, we are dedicated towards providing a supportive and positive learning environment in which members are empowered to and develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
