UOWLSS Senior Mooting Competition
Date:9th May 2017 - 5th Jun 2017
Time:5:00pm - 7:00pm
Location:McKinnon Building (BLG 67), University of Wollongong, Northfields Avenue, KEIRAVILLE, NSW
The Senior Moot is for law students in third year and above, however, determined second years are welcome to compete. Teams of two will be given a problem question set as an Appeal in the High Court of Australia, normally based on Tort Law or Constitutional Law (second year competitors will not have studied these areas of law). Each round is judged by legal professionals and academics to ensure competitors receive quality, constructive feedback. The competition is regarded as the most prestigious of our internal competitions, and gives students the opportunity to fine tune their advocacy, legal research and teamwork skills. Grand Final winners gain the privilege of competing in the ALSA moot competition against other teams from Universities throughout Australia.
Mooting is a rewarding co-curricular activity to develop skills inherent to the legal profession as well as aiding your future legal studies. Students are to compete, whether they have competed in the Junior Moot previously or not. Participation is highly esteemed throughout the legal profession, and a great way to enhance your resume and confidence.
