Welcome to Groundswell, the School of Earth & Environmental Science Student Society
Groundswell aims to provide students of SEES opportunities for a) personal and professional skills development and b) professional and social networking through field trips and relevant scientific and industry seminars/workshops. However, you don't need to be a member of SEES to join, if you have a keen interest in areas like geology or the enivonrment we have so much planned. For our lovers of the environment, make your way down to our local restoration and conservation projects so you can help make a difference within your local environment. And for those who have their eyes set on geology or mineralogy, make sure to look out for our field trips to places like Bombo Quarry, Flagstaff Hill, Geoscience Australia in Canberra and even a chance to go fossicking around NSW.
We aren't all about hard work though. If you just just want a chance to socialise and meet people with similar interests make sure you come to our social events, whether that be rock climbing, movie nights or even just hanging out at the UniBar with us. Come along and make some new friends and ask us questions. Groundswell knows that life as a Uni student is hard and expensive, so keep your eye out for our BBQs. It's a great way to get some food in your belly and ask us questions about what is planned, and what you would like to do.
